Top 5 Mob/Mafia Movies

This post is dedicated to AMC's Mob Week

5. The Departed

Coming in at number 5 is The Departed. This movie stars some of the greats such DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, and Mark Wahlberg (Marky Mark.) This movie was based off the movie Internal Affairs. This film takes place in Boston, Massachusetts where the Irish mob places an informant into the police force simultaneously as the police force places a rat into the mob. When both men realize the situation, they try to expose each other before their cover is blown.
4. Pulp Fiction

Directed by Quentin Tarantino, this movie displays four different tales of crime and violence starring John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, and Uma Thurman. (Not spoiling this movie.)
3. Scarface
This movie is about the tale of Tony Montana who is a Cuban refugee that comes to Miami, Florida. To become a cocaine kingpin. This movie displays his wrong choices on a road to crime and violence.
Fun Fact: This movie was a remake, not the original! You can find the original Here
2. The Godfather
Most people who make these kind of lists put The Godfather always at number 1. Although I do admit The Godfather is a good movie, I really don't believe that this movie is better than the next film. Anyway, back to number 2. The movie tells the tale of a organized-crime family (the Corleone's) who are ultimately torn apart by their bad decisions and the end that crime and violence always tends to take.

1. The Goodfellas

Last and definitely the best The Goodfellas is in my book the best mob movie ever made and it's a true story! The story displays Henry Hill and his friends who fight their way up the crime ladder who will stop at nothing to be the best Mafia members ever. I highly recommend this movie to everyone and I've never heard any complaints.
